New Becker Mining Systems Belt Rip Detection System

Active conveyor belt systems are one of the most efficient tools for removing waste and raw materials from mining sites.  However, these systems are also susceptible to damage and wear, which can lead to costly downtime and lost production. The new Becker Mining Systems Belt Rip Detection System BRS 2 has been developed to help increase the productivity of conveyor belts by detecting belt rips as soon and as reliable as possible.

The BRS 2 uses sensors that are installed on the conveyor belt to constantly monitor for signs of damage. Sensors are installed via an inductive loop system. If a rip is detected, the system will immediately shut down the conveyor belt to prevent further damage. With the active loop detection system, operators can get an alert as to where the conveyor belt has been damaged, allowing for quick and easy repair.

The BRS 2 can help save a lot of time and money by quickly detecting belt rips and shutting down the conveyor belt before more damage can occur, as conveyor belts at mining sites frequently stretch hundreds of meters.

Access monitoring for errors or during an emergency is easy, either locally with its 12” TFT screen, 5 shortcut buttons, mouse pad, and virtual keypad or remotely via TCP/IP or Modbus. An IS version of the BRS is also available.

The BRS 2 is easy to install and can be used on any type of conveyor belt. It is a reliable and cost-effective solution for keeping your conveyor belt systems running smoothly and reducing downtime. You can integrate this solution today and be confident that your system will be able to withstand the everyday wear and tear of a busy mining operation.
