  • Your company’s Employer Identification Number (EIN) or Social Security Number (SSN), Detailed information about the shipment, including commodity descriptions, value, and country of destination Export license information (if applicable), Shipping details, such as the carrier and mode of transportation. 

Step 4: Submit Your ITN Application

  • Once registered with AESDirect and armed with the required information, you can submit your ITN application. Follow the prompts on the website, providing accurate and complete details about your export transaction. Double-check all information to ensure accuracy.

Step 5: Receive Your ITN

  • After you’ve submitted your application, the AES will review it. If everything is in order, you’ll receive your ITN electronically. Be sure to save and document this number.

Step 6: File Your Export Documentation

  • Now that you have your ITN, you can proceed with filing the necessary export documentation. This typically includes the Shipper’s Export Declaration (SED) or Electronic Export Information (EEI), which must be filed with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Step 7: Monitor and Track Your Shipment

  • With your ITN and export documentation in place, you can now proceed with your international shipment. Keep a close eye on the tracking and delivery status of your goods to ensure a smooth export process.
